Mom. Wife. Beyoncé Enthusiast. Problem Solver. Connection Curator.

Hi, I'm Devonna, and I'm so glad you're here. Born in the home of the legendary Motown and now proudly rooted in Connecticut, I've built a career around helping people, organizations, and communities connect with purpose. Whether through marketing, communications, community engagement, or public service, I've always been drawn to the work of bringing people together and helping good ideas gain momentum.

Today, I serve as Director of Marketing & Communications for a public education nonprofit, where I lead strategic communications efforts that support students, educators, and communities across the state. Over the years, my work has spanned public relations, digital communications, brand strategy, accessibility, web development, event planning, and stakeholder engagement. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and an MBA in Business Analytics from Central Connecticut State University, combining creativity and storytelling with data-informed decision-making.

My passion for community extends well beyond my day job. I'm the co-founder of the Quentin "Q" Williams Foundation, honoring the legacy and values of the late Quentin Williams. Before that, I had the privilege of serving as Campaign Manager for Q's successful re-election campaigns, helping secure three terms in office. I also served as Vice Chair of the Middletown Democratic Town Committee and was honored to receive the 2021 Ella Grasso Women's Leadership Award.

One of my greatest strengths is the network of relationships I've built over the years. Through my professional work, community involvement, nonprofit leadership, and civic engagement, I've developed connections across industries, sectors, and communities throughout Connecticut. Those relationships continue to fuel my work and reinforce my belief that meaningful connections are often the catalyst for meaningful change.

When I'm not working, you can usually find me planning my next trip, attending a concert, tackling a creative project, or keeping up with my husband and toddler, who provide equal parts joy, adventure, and cardio. As a self-proclaimed Beyoncé enthusiast, I'm always looking for my next great experience, whether that's a new destination, a new skill, or an opportunity to bring people together. I believe meaningful relationships are at the heart of a fulfilling life and that family extends beyond those we're related to. The communities, friendships, and connections we cultivate often become family too.

Outside of my professional roles, I'm often the unofficial help desk for friends and family. Whether that means troubleshooting technology, untangling paperwork, or helping someone make sense of the many moving parts of adulthood, I genuinely enjoy helping people navigate unfamiliar challenges. There's something incredibly rewarding about helping someone feel more capable, informed, and supported.

At the heart of everything I do is a love for solving problems, building confidence, and turning ideas into action. Whether I'm developing a communications strategy, supporting a community initiative, mentoring a colleague, or serving as a Connecticut Justice of the Peace, my goal is always the same: to create meaningful connections that leave people, organizations, and communities stronger than I found them.
